Being that it takes two to tango, while abortion is a woman's right it does effect a man too and all opinions should have equal standing. Both partners should take equal responsiblity for contraception.

I think the reason why people make such a big stink about it is because a woman should have the right to chose.
I understand where you are coming from because I am also against abortion. I believe that no matter how you want to spin it those cells are the beginning of a life.
On the other hand I know that my friends have had abortions. Many times they could not support the baby. Sometimes the guy they conceived the baby with was unwilling to help them or denied they where the father. There are so many things that can effect the the situation.
I was once in the situation when someone wanted me to consider abortion. He said that he would find the money to pay for it. I know at the time I could not face my parents if I was. It is really hard to hide be pregnant for to long. I considered long and hard and realized that I could not do it.
If I was meant to have the child I will have it.
I was not pregnant however just late.
Hope that helped.

having an opinion on abortion is not gender selective. what if you were a father and the woman who was pregnant wanted to get rid of YOUR child.
i believe a man can understand most of the facets of pregnancy and having a child.
i disagree with you on a few points, however. if you can't support a baby, you should a) be using condoms because those are a lot cheaper than having a child or b) not having sex.
the rape thing ... i have a different view on. while it's not the child's fault the way in which it was conceived .. if a woman truly could not get past the rape, i don't think it's right for a child to grow up hated and unwanted .. possibly abused and forgotten.
you're a smart guy for even considering and caring about the issue.

Considering the male is half of the equation, you have every right to speak out against abortion. However, if you believe it's alright to have an abortion because of not being able to support the baby, I speak out against your opinion. Adoption is a most viable solution. There is no room for situational ethics when it comes to choosing between life and abortion. Life should always be the choice.

I think a woman should get an abortion only if she was raped or if her life is in danger due to the pregnancy. Not being able to support a baby is no excuse, that should be thought about before the deed is done, give it up for adoption then.

They have a point, your not going to have to carry the baby to term, give birth, and become responsible for the daily needs of a life for the next 21 years. The woman involved will have a better appreciation for these concerns than you.
However, I do not beleive abortion should be used as a birth control method. Of course the women involved risk sterilization from the procedure.

'ell no!!!!!! People should respect ur opinion as they would have u respect theirs.
Also, abortion has nothing to do with ur neighbor, community or God. It's UR choice, I mean be real, are all of those people going to help u raise the child(ren) NO!! But u better believe they'll be there to berate u when u make a mistake.
Others seem to want to put u on a guilt trip by tossing u (what society accepts)
How is abortion worse then having a child for sale?

yes you have several "choices" before you actually have to have an abortion. so you maybe need to point out that you dont HAVE to have sex you dont HAVE to be unprotected and you dont HAVE to not get a morning after pill. so there are three choices along the way to the choice that everyone has so much passion about. and the rape producing a child is a bad thing to base an argument on honestly its like 2.5% of 10% of 30% or something like that its not that big of a deal in statistical terms now for people who have to go through it yeah bad bad bad but the effected population is like 100,000 or something like that so out of 300,000,000 its not that big a number that the whole populace has to deal with it.
hopefully with all the options out now there will be no need for abortion to happen cant wait for that day.

I agree, although I'm pro-choice. I don't agree w/ women who get an abortion because oops, it was an accident. However, ultimately, it's the women's choice on what to do w/ their bodies. Unless you are the husband, otherwise, it's harder to us women to digest your opinion since it doesn't really involve you or what you think. You don't have to be the one who goes thru. 10 months of unwanted pregnancy, all the crazy changes w/ your body, the inexplanable degree of labor pain, the possible type of discrimination of being a single parent, and then the responsibility of raising the kid. Hope this helps you to understand.

You are right....but I don't agree about the rape thing. I don't think anybody should have the right to take an innocent life, no matter what. But, maybe if the baby was very unhealthy (had aids or something), then I could understand it...but I still wouldn't do it.
