I was just on the Nuva ring for my first month, then i took it out as scheduled but no period, so on the day i was supposed to put the new one in, i took a pregnancy test--negative. and went ahead and put the new one in. well like two hours later i kinda started my period but not really.. u know what i mean and then it stopped for a day adn then came back and its been really light but bad bad bad cramps and i finally had to wear a tampon with the nuva ring and i take it out to clean it daily. i know this is gross but its been like 4-5 days now i think and it just doesn't seem right. its not even like a REAL period. its like a half-*** period but still enough to annoy me and keep me from having sex so i'm really sick of it. QUESTION: IS ANY OF THIS NORMAL FOR NUVA RING USERS?

Completely normal. Your first few cycles on ANY new birth control are bound to be a bit wacky, especially if it's your first time with any hormonal BC. It can take up to three months for everything to even out. It should be better next cylce, just wait this one out.

I've been on the Nuva ring for like 2 months. I started it after I stopped breast feeding my daughter, so it was kind of my first period after having the baby. It lasted for like 3 weeks, which sucks, but it wasn't quite normal either. I just got mine again today, which is pretty much on schedule. But putting the ring in didn't stop mine last time, so I doubt it will this time too. I think mine was messed up last time because of the baby though...so I'm not sure. lol Sorry I don't think I was much help...but to the point...no mine wasn't exactly normal either. I think that when you start a new form of birth control it takes awhile for your body to become adjusted to it...
