it all boils down to prevention(you missed that one)and housekeeping. no clutter! they like stacks of newspapers ,magazines, old linens, and of course the usual pet and people food. when you get them out, find all holes and fill with shreds of stainless steel pot scrubbers(without the soap).

Mice traps with peanut butter worked for me. Mothballs under the house or trailer, mothballs in other places. Getting out all the extra junk and food in the house. Make sure food is sealed up good. Throw out trash every day or asap. Make sure there is not any open water or leaking water for them. Get a cat I had something in my attic and I put up this luggage a cat had sprayed on I had cleaned but had a slight smell still. When I went back after awhile to get it the smell was gone and so were the attic mice. Any time I get a cat any rodents I have go away. I use to get fruit rats down in Southern Florida because of all the fruit trees around. They are smaller rats but very destructive. Got my cat back from my ex and it left the apartment.

FOREVER is a REAAAAALY long time. I'd settle for NOW if I had that situation.
CONTROL is the key, and assume that much like Roaches they were here before US and will likely be AFTER US.
Clean helps, but it's more.... Environment, openings in a house, warm nesting places to maintain the species, etc.
Certainly they deserve LIFE as you do,,, but not strictly as a house mate. DO NOT use GLUE traps,,,PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!
Consider, if you must,,,Quick, and clean executions,, even if remorseful.

Mice can really be annoying. There is several ways. A cat (if your not allergic to them) is real handy to have. Otherwise there is mouse traps. Instead of cheese, try peanut butter. I have found D-Con to be really affective. It is poisonous, you really have to watch that your animals don't get hold of one that has died from it. You should watch children around them. Put them somewhere out of sight.

Not sure why my man will not use glue traps but if I was you ,I get them out and lay them a good mouse is a dead mouse because if the female gets busy you are going to have them everwhere and they will run you out of there and you will end up calling a exterminator
you need to get on this now or get a cat but do it soon man

Have Congress pass a law requiring mandatory sterilization of all mice.

You don't. You may be able to keep them out though. Close all small openings in the building (presume you're talking about a building). Make that ALL small openings. As suggested, use traps when you've got the holes closed.

Cover or get rid of food sources like garbage, pantry items, etc.
Forget poisons..traps work better..use peanut butter.
They hate mothballs.
Close gaps in doors, etc.
Look outside for sources where they can bread or eat.

You can't....mice can get into a house from a hole the size of a dime!
Get yourself a very good mouser of a cat, and she will keep them out of your sight!
(the best mouser cats are female---trust me!)

All these are good suggestions. I'll add plug holes where they can get in with steel wool. They won't chew through it because it cuts their mouth.
