1-D -> Vernal equinox is when the sun crosses the celestial equator (projection of the terrestrial equator onto the celestial sphere). That in turn yields same day/light duration for all latitudes.

2-C intensity.

3- don´t know.

1-D
2-C
3-D for tallest from base, C for highest in altitude.

The problem with your question #3 is the word 'highest.' That could mean highest in altitude, or highest from its base. The volcanoes with the highest altitude are found in the Andes Mountains. The tallest volcano is Mauna Loa.
From volcano.si.edu:
Nevados Ojos del Salado volcano on the Chile/Argentina border is the world's highest volcano above sea level, but it rises only about 2,000 m above its base. The broad summit of Mauna Loa shield volcano is 2,700 m lower than Nevados Ojos del Salado, but it's height above base is almost 10 times that of the Andean volcano.
