Because Pit Bulls have a reputation for being 'fierce' and 'aggressive' dogs which can add potential 'street cred' to someone's persona. A Pit Bull makes you hard ... what the f*ck ever.
Most of the time they end up getting tied up outside with little to no human interaction. That, or they are purposefully baited against other dogs and then praised for aggressive and ferocious behavior - which in and of itself is a type of abuse.
Go to your local animal shelter and you'll find that probably 1 in 5 of the dogs there are Pit Bulls or some kind of Pit Bull mix. Its really sad. Pit Bulls are gentle and loving dogs and it is a shame that they have the reputation that they do because most apartment complexes ban them from residence; or your homeowner's insurance is more expensive because you own a Pit Bull.
A dog is only as nice as its owner.

Actually, they can be pretty nice pets. The losers and morons are the one who train them to fight and abuse them so they become attack dogs. But normally they are not th evil beast they are made out to be by the press. I don't own a dog, never have, but I know a couple families with Pit bulls and they have alwys been as freindly as any other dog and have been good with their kids too.

I have a friend who has bought two within the past year. He thinks that they are cool! They are very aggressive and I don't care to be around dogs like that. I am a dog lover and have owned many breeds including a Shepperd-wolf mix. I would never own a pit! I have seen what they can do to their surroundings and how even the ones that seem harmless can turn on you. I used to hope that that wasn't true about pits but it is!

awww not everyone who has a pit bull is a loser and a moron, i have one. i actually saved his life. My sisters husband was jealous of her pit because he was spoiled. my sisters husband used to kick the poor dog in the face ect. the dog is a big baby likes to play ect. she had to call the dog catcher to come get the dog or her husband was gonna shoot the it.. So after the dog catcher took the pitbull i went down and adopted him. He is still playful, he does get aggresive tho when he sees someone he doesnt know, but all dogs protect there owners...if that makes me a loser or moron i guess im one....

to convince their loser moron friends like you to give the dogs a bad rap. do a search. find some info on pits that has not been spoon fed to you as your opinion. form your own opinion, or go on sounding like a dumba.s.s..
