to get from level 1 to level 2, you need more than 250 points. if you ask a question, it takes away 5 points.

so, let's say that you are at 248 points. (level 1)

you answer 3 questions. each question you answer gives you 2 points.

you will have 254 points, and will be on level 2.

now, let's say you then continue and ask a question, which takes away 5 points. you will be level 1 again.

try this link - http://answers.yahoo.com/info/scoring_system;_ylt=AtosWb2jxBjqDtYK2ZYbrWrzy6IX - it will tell you the scorecard info.

however, it is worthy to note, that levels do not really mean anything. a higher level is only able to ask more questions, answer more questions, vote more times, and leave more comments.

The points will give you more priviliges to this community. All I know is that level 2 lets you rate answers
