Hello teecee,
I have never been to Zimbabwe, and to my knowledge, I've never met a person from there. I'm just a dude from Ohio in the USA.
I have been to 11 other countries though. My experience is that the average person I do meet out there... is a kind and decent person who just wants to live, love and have a good life. If I met one from Zimbabwe, and he (she) didn't hate me for being a white American; then I expect we would find a great deal in common. We both need to eat, breath, and generally live in peace. Perhaps some day !
P.S. ( I'll bet that the average American under 30 years of age doesn't even know what diaspora means!)

i feel for the people of that country who are made to suffer under the hands of mugabe. unless they can find a way out, they will always be pandamonium and carnage. zimbabwe is now a hell hole and thus, a lot of whites who see no future in their native country choose to relocate to places such as here in the uk, south africa and in europe to name. no wonder many of them , as well as black zimbabweans are fleeing from there to come to places like britain to seek refuge and protection. sadly however, our shameful government chooses to deport those who if they go back to zimbabwe, there is every chance of being killed by mugabe's henchmen. blair, geldof and bono talk about making poverty history; well how's about making dictatorship history first rather than throwing money at african countries run by dispotic leaders.

Mugabe is sadly ANOTHER African leader (in the loosest sense of term) who has seen fit to enact policy to boost his popularity by stepping upon the necks of a group he deems unfaithful to him. I can't imagine what it's like for the farmers and the like, forced off of land that they tilled for profit AND the agricultural health of Zimbabwe. No more.

I was there about six years ago. The people seemed very nice, doing their best to get along, but clearly Mugabe is ruining the country.
