Yes, but how much to indent is a point of dispute for some people. Some prefer the standard five spaces that I was taught in school, while others want you to hit the tab key instead.

Yes I am currently in an english class. I write 1 paper a week. To indent your paper use the tab key.

click precise till now the 1st letter you typed contained in the paragraph to place the cursor there then press the tab key on the better left hand fringe of your keyboard, via Q and caps lock. If that doesn't artwork press the gap bar many times untill the indent is as huge as you decide on.

Yes you are suppose to indent the first letter of every new paragraph you write. If you didn't it would be hard to tell where a new paragraph began.

I am in an English Comp class in college. My professor and the book she teaches from does inform you that you do have to indent the first word of each paragraph.

If actually writing (like pen to paper) it is still proper form to indent. I still indent even when typing letters.

Yes. But you don't need to indent if it's a letter. You can write a business letter that is completely left aligned.

it depends if you are going to skip a line between each paragraph. if you are going to skip a line, then you don't indent, but if you don't skip lines, that you must indent to show that it is a new paragraph.
