How come some Government Officials were given anthrax vaccines before it happened. and other Officials were told not to fly on commercial planes?
I am an Australian so i dont really know what normal Americans think of this

I think they had an idea that something was going to happen but nothing specific- that was the problem- all they had was a rough idea, nothing concrete.

I read the 9/11 Commissiion I can tell you that President Clinton nor Bush weren't at fault. It was the bearucrats who were a sleep at the switch especially in the Clinton Administration. Now there were some crying wolf over Bin Laden and Al Qaeda as early as the midlate 90s but no one didn't take actions. On Sept 11th itself there was mass communication confustion between the FAA and NORAD. The movie UNITED 93 directed by Paul Greengrass captures that confusion and I reccomend it. Now the anthrax attacks followed in October. I don't recall no knowledge of gov't officials getting Anthrax shots.

No! it in no way benefited the U.S. Government, and regardless of what you think, there is simply not this type of evil lurking in Washington. Unfortunately, we as a nation were too preoccupied with controling Iraq, and worried about an expanding China...terrorism was on the bottom of the list. All the while, Bin Laden had taken on the Soviet Union in Afghanistan, and for all intents and purposes, drove the Soviets out. He wanted the U.S. out of Saudi Arabia and started a terror campaign against us. We just didn't see it coming, or rather, chose to worry about other things.

I'm not American either but stories do say that the government knew it was going to happen.
Why they didn't do anything about is because the USA gets so many terrorist threats every day. They just can't act upon each and every one as most are just that.....threats.
Hind sight is always 20/20. I'm sure if they had to do all over again, the outcome would be totally different.

How about using common sense. If the US government did know about it, don't you think they would've done something to prevent it?
9/11 was a result of terrorism. Bin Laden accepted responsibility for it and it's over.

too much government. they had too much data and not enough people to sort through it all. a few had hints and weren't takeing chances, but it wasn't put together in time to convince enough people to take action
