Hay jax!!
I certainly do not agree with her,
In the past Germaine Greer, has been known to start controversy to get attention,
Many people have said she will not be welcome back in Australia. Because she stopped being us a long time ago.. We as Australians stick together and come united in grief, and that hog over in Britain thinks she can condemn poor Steve Irwin..
I hope Steve's family know exactly what that Buffalo said, and i hope she gets a mouthful.. AUSSIE STYLE,
Karma's a bi*ch and what goes around does come around...

By the way, i don't know if you knew..
But Steve Irwin was laid to rest in his property at the Australian zoo on Saturday.. If you are Australian , i would encourage you to come to the memorial that is believed to be held at a stadium, which will be confirmed today.. *according to reports *

God bless

She is entitled to her own opinion but for someone like her, who gained notoriety through her behavoiur rather than her talent for anything, to try to poison people against a recently deceased man is dispicable.
My own opinion is that, while his method was very different from that of David Attenborough for instance, he was a man that truly love animals & was passionate about passing his knowledge on to as many people as he could. If he gained more attention for his subject by being a little outrageous then so what?
He will be greatly missed.
She on the other hand wrote a book which inspired no-one.

I certainly have nothing negative to say about Steve Irwin and I was shocked to hear of his death. I have to admit I saw him as an entertaining educator more than as a conservationist. The best compliment I can give him is that he had the courage to be himself and to live passionately and unapologetically for what he believed in. I wish I had a fraction of that courage to live my life the same way. I saw his TV special where he toured US National Parks in the West with his family and it was very beautiful and touching. They all seemed to reflect and resonate with the same level of passion about nature, especially his two children Bindi and Bob. Bindi at age 7 or 8 is already a star in her own right. Smart, knowledgable, well spoken, funny and completely at ease in front of the camera. I believe they will be his legacy.

Steve Irwin didn't abuse anything. Rescueing alligators takes physcial contact that other might view as harsh but that is the way it is done. Mr. Irwin was an advid activist for animal rights/protection. He will be missed by many.

Seems to me there's a vacancy in the world of crocodile wranglers. I'd pay money to see Germaine Greer wrestling with crocodiles.

I don't agree with her at all. I felt he was insanely hyper and so full of energy, but that was because he was just so passionate about his work. I think that he was so dedicated to the animals that he wold have been doing the same things he had done even without the publicity through a camera.

Normally I would not be interested in Germaine Greer's opinion on any subject...so tell us what did she say

The bloke was a tit. He probably only died 'cos he was trying to catch/ ride/ shag the bloody fish. I mean he even took his newly born child in to a croc pen. What?! Yes, fine, risk your own life but not anyone else! I'm sure his heart was in the right place with animal conservation and he was a good entertainer but I'm not convinced that he paid full attention to animal wellbeing over fame. Shame, really 'cos nothing normally all that good comes out of Australia.
