I am a african american male in highschool that finds sports boring, or at the bottom of my list. I try to fake like I like sports to keep people from looking at me funny. You know how black folks would look at you funny if you say you dont like looking at sports. I think black folks whould think something is wrong with you(gay) if you are a black male and dont like sports. I really struggle with my lifestyle because I am totally diffrent from an average black male teenager. I dislike the stuff an average black male teenage does such as play football, basketball, listen to rap music,and play video games. I;m I normal and what do I do because

well dont assume your gay just for that, thats often a common mistake, you my friend, as far as im considered, a far better human being then most, remember bill cosbys speech on rap and what not, he was not gay. What you should do is find something you like and go for it.

I am an african american female in high school that doesn't listen to rap, doesn't perm her hair or have a weave. (OMG!) So what the world doesn't like your lifestyle. The more reason for you to hang on and enjoy being the person you are. Whatever your hobbies are and whoever you hang with shouldn't matter. Its how much you can stand being an unique indiviual. Think about if we all had to be placed into a category. How boring the world would be if all the girls wore pink and the guys wore blue. Just be happy and in love with who you are. Jesus does.

Well I don't think you should assume anything. I'm black and I wouldn't think anything is wrong with you for not liking sports.I'm sure that there is something else you can find to do that you will enjoy nobody is the same so just stand your ground and you will be a whole lot happier instead of acting like you enjoy something that you don't.

Are you saying other blacks would say you are gay 'cause you have different interests? You stereotype black folks. Black folks are as diverse in their interests as everyone else. Find things that interest you and you will be too busy for that other stuff. I don't think Einstein played football either, not that he was black, but not that it matters.

There are a lot of questions to ask you, you only state what you don't like, but what do you like, are you an academic? if so keep up your studies and be Dux of the school, play chess or join the debating team, you don't have to play or watch sport, but please don't try to fake it, be yourself and be honest, study become a lawyer ( and still be honest, lol ) or be a doctor or something like that, tell them your going to be a sports doctor and fix sport injuries. Go for it man, you sound like you've got your head screwed on the right way, go for it.

Hey, just be yourself, do what makes you feel good, find others who share your interests. Just because you aren't interested in what many in high school are doesn't mean anything more than that you aren't interested in what many in high school are. Btw, a lot of those kids are just going along to fit in. Have more faith in yourself than that, okay.
