Yes, if she dies then she's not a witch but, oh crap, we just killed an innocent little old lady!

in this time, in case you have been mentioned to be a witch, you're able to have been killed. Burning became right into a commonly used way of killing so-stated as witches interior the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. 1000's of 1000's of folk have been theory to be killed because of the fact they have been supposedly witches. Wikipedia is a superb start to look this up, yet there are a number of web pages dedicated to this, the Salem witch trials, and a great form of extra. in simple terms style in witch trial, witch hunt, Salem witch trials, etc. and you gets 1000's of 1000's of articles. desire this permits. Blessed Be!!!!! Edit: additionally, I have been given to thinking and needed to function that in case you made somebody mad at you, or they only did no longer such as you for some reason, they might unfold the rumor which you have been working in direction of witchcraft and reason an uproar of city and that they might then hunt you down and burn, stone, or kill you a fashion or the different. in simple terms needed to function that it did no longer count in case you have been working in direction of or no longer. It enables to purpose and comprehend the mass hysteria this led to in a time while faith(the Christian God I would desire to assert) became into each and every thing or you weren't something. You had to believe a undeniable way or you would be killed.

No. Actually those practices weren't nearly as popular as we have been lead to believe. There were many, many so called "tests" to determine if a person was a witch. All ludicrous of course. As far as the executions of witches, in most of Europe the preferred method was hanging.

I am not sure about Europe but it was two of the ways the English Colonies proved witchcraft - if they drowned - they were not witches (they were dead then so it didn't matter to the women they drowned) and burned at the stakes was the other way - I never did figure out how burning them proved the women were witches!@

Yes. You dunk a witch under water repeatedly until she confesses, and then you burn her at the stake. If she dies of drowning without confessing, then she was either a really strong witch, or you just blessed an innocent by sending them to the Lord sooner.
And they say that Muslims hold a monopoly on terror.

There has been speculation on that. I have not read any specific evidence that it actually happened. Below is a good reference on the witch hunts and trials.
