I mean everyone's flesh isn't that color. Do you think they should call it something else? Just wondering.

My daughter is two and I recently bought a box of crayons for her and there is still a flesh colored crayon in there. It hasn't been taken out.

The crayon wasn't changed in 1962 I was born 1976 and they still had flesh crayons then too. I aslo have a problem with "indian red"

I think they should leave it alone. I realize your issue on this, but what would they rename it to? Caucasian? Indian red.. well I suppose they could find other names, but they were not attempting racism when they named these colors. (I am native American and am not upset by Indian red) Maybe instead they could add brown-flesh, yellow-flesh.. of course then we also have to do away with flesh being a designation for a color that it has been for a very long time.. flesh colored tights would be what? If you can come up with something simple to change it to, then I would support your efforts out of respect for your feelings, but as I do not see an alternative offered here.. I say leave it in the crayon box.

Gosh, I haven't seen "flesh" as a crayon in probably 30 years....maybe you have an old antique box that somehow slipped through a time line. Perhaps you should go on the site and do some questioning!

Where have you been?
Flesh name voluntarily changed to "peach" in 1962, partially as a result of the U. S. Civil Rights Movement.

They renamed "flesh" like 30 years ago. Go look at an actual box of crayons.
Seriously, there's no "flesh" color anymore. It's "peach" now.

I assume the crayon is pink. We whites have some weird advantages, but I think the crayon issue is relatively insignificant, so yes, it will be solved in a year or two!LOL oohh, true, but sad
