I know, don't buy earings with those backings, but, I have some I like to wear (expensive) but afraid of loosing them. It sucks.

Go to a jeweler and purchase backings that fit properly. If they are a tight fit you will not lose them. Enjoy the earrings.....it's no fun leaving them in the jewelry box. Also, don't wear them if you are swimming or doing anything that would cause them to come out.
