I am sorry i dont have a very scientific answer for you, but yes, for whatever reason nature has, spiders are everywhere right now. Last night, my son looked at me with a look on his face that was half fear, half laugh, pointed to my head and said, " a spider just dropped onto your head and then climbed back up its web to the ceiling. Eeek! Oh well, im more afraid of bug killer than i am of bugs, so i will squash what i can, and tolerate what i cant. If they build a wed in an out of the way area, i leave it alone because spiders catch and kill mosquitos. Now they are scary!, West Nile Virus, etc. Winter will be here soon anyway.

This year the hot summer has seen an increase in many bugs. Earwigs' spiders, mosquito's, ladybirds etc.
Now the colder weather is here the spiders will be looking for somewhere warm and dry.
They always head for the house at this time of year.
The only thing different this year is that there are more than usual

yeah very common. But if you're having trouble catching the fkrs- keep a bottle of hairspray at bay- catch em at the right time to spray some on- be easier than running after them under all the furniture and beds and so forth! You can get the electric plug that throws out repelling noises that the human ear cannot hear, never tried it but have always been intrigued... maye one of these days

Do you have a lot of scrubs, tree's & things like that around your house? if so, then yes - and they'll be around all year long, spider's don't have a seasonal mating time - it's all about the "What's outside the house". My house is like web city due to all the plants & stuff outside but spider's are good (most of them anyway)- they eat the pesky insects, fly's, etc.

Yes, unfortunately! You can use hedge balls which gets rid of some. Otherwise there little ones are growing up. They come in because of the cold. There won't be much food to trap in their webs. Have you ever seen webs in the basement that have little white things on them moving. Those are the babies. Which is around the late summer. By then they are starting to get older which does increase the little darling.
