Yes, I am tired of hearing about 9/11. Don't get me wrong -- I shed plenty of tears that day and the days following the attacks. It is completely understandable that the victims' families are still heartbroken and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, but it doesn't mean that as a nation we need to continue to mourn the deaths of people that many of us did not personally know. The spouses of several of these victims have moved on by getting remarried and starting new families. If they have moved on then we should as well.
The sad truth is innocent people lose their lives every single day whether they are killed by a drunk driver or the victim of a random, violent crime. The media does not go on and on about these individuals yet their lives are just as valuable.

I personally am not sick of hearing about 9-11. However I try to avoid the news or newspaper because it seems more depressing now then when it happened. It was a huge tragic loss in many ways. If I happen to catch the veiwing of the twin towers attack on t.v., I cry just as much as the day it happened. Its an emotional trama that will never go away. But occasionally when I hear about it, it makes me think about how much I love America and that our lives shouldn't be taken for granted. Today, on the fifth anniversary of 9-11, I am thankful that we have not been attacked again.

I am saddened that so many people have forgotten what happened on 9-11. And other just don't care. 9-11 was preventable and the people did nothing about it. So be sick of it all you want. Just hope the next time something happens you are safe.
People have not forgotten about WWll, but is was a long time ago.

I have to say I agree with you..but i'm almost afraid to say it. If you don't support the war, or say something like you're tired of hearing about 9/11..people will quickly label you a non-supporter of the american way.
Fact is, if i had someone that died in it personally..i'd keep them in rememberance. but at the same time i'd grow tired of hearing about their sad and violent deaths no matter which source of media i turned to. Think about someone who you may have know that has died, not in 9/11..but in general. Do you celebrate their death date each year..or something happier. LIke birth date?
To me..its like slavery. I always here people say that black people always bring that up..and that they should forget about it. More people died in slavery, than 9/11. More people die in spousal abuse than 9/11..
So just as slavery, civil rights movements, and daily deaths..we should never forget. But we should never over-consume ourselves with the idea of it. Just learn whats happened and figure out ways to move on..

I am too. I sympathise for the whole situation, of course, but then I think about the Boxing-Day Tsunami in Asia and how hundreds of thousands of lives were lost, and that doesn't get nearly enough media coverage.
It's really because America is the largest in terms of economy and media and can portray it how they like.
I'm more concerned about our world's 'wellbeing' than people trying to kill each over trivial matters.

Tired of hearing about 9/11.....NEVER.
The coverage is what helps for people to remember.
Until our borders and ports are secured the way they need to be then 9/11 coverage should be on the news every day.

Guilty as charged ^_~; I'll admit, I'm tired of it myself, i havent watched the news in months, just for fear of seeing 9/11 pop up somewhere, after so long of watching the news, i make a mistake of flipping to the wrong channel, see something on 9/11 and think "ugh, they are "Still" on about that?" i fear sept. 11 coming this year, and plan to lock myself indoors just to avoid all the commotion, news coverage, tributes etc, all because it's the anniversary of 911................... chances are if i walk out of my house i'll be blinded by flags and yellow ribbons.......
i love this country as much as the next, but i feel bush is power/war/attention hungry, ........... okay i cant say that since i have no basis for my opinion, (I havent kept up with the news like i said,) but if not that, then the media is power hungry, and they are soaking up 9/11 for every drop it's worth, like...................... @.@;;; pokemon.............. (sorry had to spout that.......) but seriously, how much money has the media made off of 9/11? those yellow ribbon magnets people put on their cars, sure some are sold as fundraisers/charity etc, but hey, i worked in a retail store, alot of those things are pure money makers, the more people go over 9/11, the more the media talks about it, and the more speeches the pres. makes about it, the more people want to show "Support" for their country, and bam, we have yellow ribbon magnets/earrings/necklaces/t-shirts / teddy bears.... whatever.......
i do sympathize with the lives that were lost on that day, and i feel bad for the families that lost people, but you know what? we lost people during pearl harbor, people in other countries lost family members because of us, tragic things happen every day, innocent lives were lost, but innocent lives are lost every day! what about the innocent people that are being hurt/killed every day now, not by outside terrorists, but by murders/killers that could be living in your own neighborhood? there is so much crime here, so many people get hurt in the u.s., why don't we put some of that energy on that?
in fact is this "War on terror" even about 9/11 anymore? or do we just bring that up as "Added fuel" to throw in the fire if it starts going down?
yes it's wrong to "Forget" lives lost, we shouldnt forget the lives lost on 9/11, or that day, but who says the lives lost on that day are "More important" than lives lost any other time? why couldnt we have given equal rememberance to anyone else?

No I am not sick of hearing about this. It as tragic. Do we start ignoring those who lost their lives because you are tired of hearing about it?? If you remember those on the plane did a very courageous thing by trying to take over the plane. I do not feel the coverage is to much. Tomorrow is Sept 11th and I feel those should talk about it as much as they wish. If you are tired of the exposure then you need to turn the news off, get off yahoo, and sit in the dark by yourself until tomorrow is over :-)

i dont know about you, but pearl harbor day is on my calendar. and it is remembered every year. but the media does put a lot of focus on it, it makes money. but we should never forget, and remember it was civilian targets not military targets they attacked. at least the japanese had that much honor. I WILL NEVER FORGET 9/11
