I remember the day like no other..I was in New Jersey going to college,(Princeton,University) and was going to my second class for the day,and all of a suddon the anouncements all came on and the loud speakers along with the t.v.s I was so frightned! My little girl Berniece was in kindergarden, and the only local school for a Catholic Kindergarden school was in NY,so she was near the city, and I was in college,my senior year.My husband was home with my 2 week old daughter, our two year old daughter,10 month old son,and his sister Meghan Ann who was in town visiting from the Barsolona,Spain where she is becoming a sister at a convent there. My father worked at the World Trade Center, but believe it or not,he didn't even go to work that day b/c he had a terrible migrane and was food posined the night before.I was so thankful he was safe! God really was there and saved his life!! :) My mother-in-law worked at Macy's a few blocks down form it but thankfully everyone was fine!

I remember being in 8th grade. The news came on the TV, and they rolled the TV into the class room and we watched what was going on. I wasn't startled or afraid at first (typicaly), but it got scarier after we watched the second plane hit.
A lot of people were upset and some were crying because they had relatives that worked at the buildings that were hit. We pretty much just watched TV all day. And then, to make things worse, while we were in class, the power just went out right around the time everything was happening. It was from a squirrel getting stuck in the power lines, but of course that wasn't everyone's first thought!

I was in an outdoor gym class field trip type thing. I was actually canoeing when it happened, and didn't find out until we got back on the bus to go back to school that we found out. The entire high school shut down, and everyone just... watched. My father was in NYC because he was a truck driver, and I just remember being so scared for him. He hadn't really been out of town in a few months, and the only thought I had was that God wanted him home with family his last few months. Luckily, he was still over two blocks away. This tragedy, that ruined many lives, and touched many more has sparked a false war, built on lies. This day does not have the same meaning to me as it did that day. I'm sorry this was more of an answer than you were looking for, but it's just been a long time since someone asked..

It was a regular work day for me... I remember walking into the office just after the first plane hit. The receptionist had tears in her eyes...
I then started to look at news on line to see what was going on. I really thought the first hit was an accident, so I started working. Then when another staff person said a 2ND plane hit, I got very concerned and all work stopped as we all tuned in to a radio we had..
As lunch time came, I went home and watched the rest of the afternoon unfold on TV. It was a horrible day that I will never forget...

For me I was at the office. I first heard over CBS radio that a plane had flown into the first tower. Sometime after 9am I went into the breakroom and a whole group of employees had gathered around to watch CNN news on the tube. I saw it: towers smoldering smoke on a blue day. I saw the first tower fall and I remember we all gaped. Around that sametime news breaks of the Pentagon and half hour later I learn about UA93 in Penn. As the day wore on it became chaotic, rumors were flying here and there. It was real wild.

I was getting ready for work, my mother-in-law called and told me to turn on the TV, because something had happened in New York. I turned it on just in time to see the second plane hit. I was stunned. I watched for an hour or so then I had to leave for work, I was already late. Every where I went, the news was on, people were in shock. Nobody could understand what had happened or why.

I was working on at an off base site at Offutt NE. roofing the rec. center at the lake. The old man who worked there told us to come see the TV. So we stared in shock for a while. Then realized we better get back to the base. Barely made it in before they closed the gates. So much for the good ol' days. Maybe some day some one will have the time to get back to that roof.

I was on my way to work when I heard about it while listening to a Christian radio station -- I was numbed when I heard about the first incident and recall thinking -- "What if it was not an accident?" And a little while later, I heard about the second incident . . . Felt scared, worried -- everyone was sent home from work so I went to the grocery store to stock up on emergency supplies and food -- a way of taking back control in my life -- that helped.

i was sitting in my first period Politica Science Class. We were all sitting around joking with the teacher when another teacher came and knocked on the door. she called our teacher out into the hall. we all continued to talk and laugh in the class for a few minutes when our teacher stormed back in the room and said"
"Everyone be quiet. We all might not be here in June!"
In my opinion, not the best way to calm a class of high schoolers. Still makes me cringe. We then proceded to watch the news footage the entire day
