My green iguana is now 11 years old. Most important things Iearned by mistake were. 1 if you feed them greens, they must be dark greens like collard or kale. lettuce like iceberg and romain do not have the nutrients they require.2 do not use cedar bedding shavings as the cage liner, I use non backed indoor outdoor carpet and remove and wash it as needed 3 change the uv bulb about every 6 months, the vet told me even though it still has light, it loses it uv ability and can cause serious disease. keep the nails trimmed too.

If yo have an Iguana you really should of taken these measures to find this information out before buying one. Do some research because there is lots to learn, far too much to write here. I am a reptile breeder and professional. I would not even let any reptile go unless I felt sure the person buying knew what the responsibilty was they were taking on, I ask to see that they have the full set up and that they know all the dietry requirements.
One thing I will pass to you is no BUGS or LIVEFOOD at all.

The below address is by far the best resource page when it comes to the care of Green Iguanas. Melissa Kaplan has pretty much dedicated her life to Iguanas and is a wealth of information! The site also has care tips on many other types of reptiles as well. You can also find her book "Iguanas For Dummies," on eBay for at a glance information.

temp around 80 to 85 , if it is a juvi iggie keep the substrate to just paper towels or newspaper, there is also juvi iggie dry food that you can keep in the cage at all times . using a uvb bulb and fixture around 8-12 hours a day will supply the vitamin d3 they need like being outside and basking it also halps with digestion. giving them fresh fruits and veggies everyday

Where did you get the iguana? That was where you should have asked the question.
They eat bugs such as meal worms and crickets, need to be kept warm and given shallow dishes of water to drink.
