I believe That it all started under FEB 26th 1993 and who was our President then ???? In June of 1998 John Miller a reporter along with Commander MA SUE Ben la dens worst enemy had the chance to capture Ben laden but our President put a stop to that. When President Bush was elected he was the President that had to clean up, or try to Clintons mess that he caused so if we need to balme anyone its CONGRESS for not supporting our CIA, FBI ETC and catching ben laden aalong time ago....before 9/11

When we went into Afghanistan to overthrow the Taliban, we did so primarily thru the efforts of special forces spotters who called in the airstrikes on Taliban targets. Once the Taliban retreated to the mountains of eastern Afghanistan, Bin Laden and the others were believed to be holed up in a sytem of caves and tunnels called Tora Bora. We continued our bombing campaign and Bin Laden with others probably escaped out the back into Pakistan. If we had immediately gone in to Tora Bora with soldiers on the ground, supported by air surveillance to catch or kill those who were fleeing, our chances of catching Bin Laden would have been much higher.

The fact that Bush decided to concentrate America's Armed Forces in an oil producing country rather than the country where Bin Laden has apparent free reign and whose main export is raw opium gets my vote for the one most responsible.

I blame the arrogance of western culture. If you look at how we see ourselves and expect others to see us, you see smug, self righteous, Christians who honestly believe they are better than people who believe otherwise.
You see people who compromise their own values (i.e. are willing to support brutal dictatorships like the Saudis) to benefit their own self interest, and do it in hypocritical self righteousness.
As was once famously said in a cartoon, we have seen the enemy and they are us. If you really had the capacity to trade places with the terrorists (i.e. there was an Islamist government which was as Machiavellian as ours and was the sole superpower in the world) you might be able to imagine why they would be so fanatically against us that they were willing to sacrifice their lives to do us harm.
If we are going to survive in this world, we have to start manifesting our values in our international acts. We will have to recognize that we don't hold a monopoly on the truth. Short of that, we will always be a target of hatred.

The us gov't administration including Mr. Bush. They ignored intrelligence and mishandled communication. In this case it was more than tragic-it was horrific. They were unprepared and didn't have a plan!

Regardless of who is culpable, let's try to let the hate go, and
feel as much love and peace for our fellow beings on earth for the short and precious life we share together...
