For English class, we have to do a report on a significant item. It can NOT be a living thing. Could it be a PICTURE of my puppy? Also, any other suggestions?

if you use the picture of your puppy, you'll be inclined to talk about your puppy which is a living thing. so, perhaps your teacher is asking for you to talk about your favorite book, music, painting, your house, a special tree that you have, a pet rock, your clothes. Anything that does not include a living thing.

What about money? The significance of it to you, etc. Anything other than a living being - it could be a favorite book, a favorite TV show, something that interests you and something that is significant to you. All kinds of things, just depends on you!

coffee, tea, spices and textiles come to mind. All these items are commodites that have been traded for centuries.
the puppy thing?? well maybe I suppose the puppy is significant to you but id ask the teacher if that was cool or not.

i can only be the picture if you are talking about just the picture (colours, shape, its art in general) not the dog.
do something ... whatever interests you! maybe you have a gift someone gave you that you still have and will always cherish... ???
