I just got a job offer overseas but have no visa (my employer is a family friend and promised me the job as soon as I finished school) can someone tell me the steps I must take while trying to get my working visa?

to which country? Doing what? The rules for getting a visa to different countries may require different procedures, as do the forms required for different types of employment. I believe in anny case, your prospective employer will have to complete documents that show you are being sponsored for the work visa
