I feel very badly for those lost on 9/11. Those killed in car accidents, those who died of many diseases and have suffered all kinds of losses. Those who were lost in the great tsunami last year, and those who passed before their time for a multitude of reasons. Those innocent Lebanese citizens that lost their life, and those on the Israeli side as well. Those suffering loss in the Sudan... oh- I could go on. My emotions and heartfelt sorry goes out to every one.

But 'pray' - nope. Prayer implies that you believe in some god that cares enough about you and all these people to listen and perhaps do something about it- and by virtue of all the terrible and awful suffering that goes on in this world- it's pretty clear to me that no god like this exists. Those of you who believe in the god of one of the thousands of organized religions in the world have certainly thrown away reason for your faith. Sorry- I cannot join you in this grand fallicy that is tearing apart the world.

But- I do care about people. Much more so than I care about some ancient book, or some nice guy who died via crucifixion 2000 years ago for saying that it would be a good idea if we were all nice to each other.

No prayer doesn't work. All the hostages in Iraq still lost their heads despite millions of people praying for them.
