and please don't write how you can change certain things. i'm sorry but you can't. there are things you just can't change no matter how hard you try. you can fool others but not yourself.

thanks

Not dumb... misinformed.

It's not dumb to think you'll go to heaven after you die, will be happy, and no longer have pain, suffering, illness, tears, etc. However, the only ones who will go to heaven and have this eternal life are those who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

Hell is a very real place, and those who hear the gospel and refuse it will go there. I don't "believe" that, I "know" that.

A couple of my family members and myself had a very real, 'physical' experience that proved to us beyond a doubt that what we already believed/believe and had/have faith in IS truth. Anyone who knows me can attest that I'm not a liar, and I don't make things up.

I too lost a child, and I know where she is because God has shown me... during a moment of complete loss without her, wondering if my baby was okay (even tho' I knew she was), He showed me a vision that I treasure. Not too long afterwards she began visiting us, and we've caught many of her playful antics on video.

So, some of you guys can choose to NOT believe if you want to, but that doesn't make it not true. You can't see or touch air, but you believe and know it's there.

Anyway, a lot of the trials we face in our life are lessons for us. It can sometimes be a result of our own doing, although we might not be aware of it. It could be many things. But if you are a true Christian, then you should know that God is the source of our peace and our strength, and we must look to Him in times of trial. It won't make life rosey, but it can give us the peace we need to not let it drag us down.

We don't have control over others and what they do that affects us personally, but again, when you trust in God and turn to Him for help, the circumstances may or may not change, but what CAN change is how you react to it, and the attitude with which you deal with it.

Try not to let the things of this world get you down. If you're a Christian, then you know this world is not your home. You live IN this world, but you are not OF this world. It is only temporary. And for those who know and love God, we absolutely DO have the most wonderful life to look forward to!!

If you like fairytale go ahead and believe whatever pleases you. Something, some life, consciousness, etc., after you die, is contrary to experience. Death is really final --- cells rot, bacteria use the calories, and what chemicals made you are now returned to the soil. You have molecules in your body that were once part of Beethoven. (But not any that were part of Elvis -- he hasn't been dead long enough.) All religions, but especially christian and muslim believe they have THE truth, the ONLY truth. Both pray to the game god, and both believe that god is on their side. And both think they are right --- fanatics are fanatics. And yes you can change things. As an intelligent being, you and you alone are responsible for your own future -- you can go back to school, you can get good grades, and you can get a better job. You can work hard, and YOU can get ahead. You can use your smarts to marry a suitable partner (and use your head to avoid druggies, drunks and abusive prospective spouses:you can choose or not choose to become a parent by practicing birth control, You can make life happen, and avoid it happening to you....... yadayadayada. You and you alone can determine what you want to be, and what will make you life what you want of it. No one can ever have all the goodies in life (unless you get super rich like Bill Gates) but everyone can work hard, study, and better themselves and have one or two goodies. Don't say you can't change something --- you are the only one who CAN!!!
Go for it!

I would hope that life after death would be wonderful! It can't be worse than what we go through here on earth or than there wouldn't be a reason to try to be a good person! I would also like to think that the ones I love who have died are in a place where there are no problems and everyone is happy! I lost one of my children about 14 yrs ago. He was about 8 weeks old and I have to go on thinking that he has to be in a place where everyone is happy and everything is perfect b/c he doesn't have his mom there to protect him or help him so something or someone better be there doing this for me until I get there! If I didn't think this way I would never make it!
Anyway I hope you get the answer you are looking for and I hope I could be of some help.

No it's not dumb. That is how people find their peace is by knowing that there will be this beautiful place where there is nothing but happiness. Everybody has their own opinion. To the first person how do you know there is no heaven? Exactly....it is what you believe you don't know first hand that there isn't a heaven and a hell. As well as I don't either but as I said previously you get your peace by knowing that some day when it's your time to go that hopefully you would want to look forward to going to somewhere where there is no pain.

No, it's not dumb to be optimistic about a possible afterlife. Unfortunately, no one has ever died and come back to give a report, so it remains one of life's mysteries. If you're a religious person, you've probably heard that if you're good you'll go to heaven. And if you're bad, you'll go to that other place......I guess these fantasies keep us going when everything in this life goes sour. It's good to have faith and hope.

I hope that whatever it is you're experiencing now that you feel can't be resolved, you will eventually come to terms with. In the meantime, keep up the faith, brother. Life is too short -- make the most of it.

I can honestly say YES and NO.
depends if it's for selfish reasons.
Or you have lived a full life. accomplished things you wanted to do and haven't done.
You've been able to give and take a little . but mostly give of yourself.
but YES if you believe in Jesus and have a personal life with him you'll go to heaven where you will be in eternity for ever.
and NO if you don't believe because then you'd go to hell and they say it's no fun going to the pit.
But if you say you want to die just to bale out of a life yet unlived then that to me is pure selfishness.

No, its a great idea to think that you'll be happy at death.

Life sucks. Death really is a relief from it. If you think about it, this is really true, if you are old and sick suffering in a bed, death is a relief. If your dad smokes, your mom beats you and your sister became a ravenous murderer then death is a relief.

Death IS a Relief. It's NOT stupid to think so

The Bible tells us that we find salvation in Jesus Christ. Your right that does not change your circumstances here. It will give you the peace of mind that you now belong to God and that you are secured a home in heaven. The Bible (God) promises that once you have accepted Jesus Christ as your saviour that you will recieve the Holy Spirit to give you comfort and guidance and that we can experience the joy that God entends for us to have All it takes is that you believe by faith that Jesus Christ was God in human body and that by dying on the cross He paid the price for your sins and mine. If you belive this by faith and in prayer to God ask that your sins be forgiven and that you want to repent and recieve Jesus Christ as your personel Saviour He will save you and put your name in Lambs Book Of Life

No, I do not think it is dumb. I feel like I have more to accomplish in this lifetime, but when it is my turn to die, I look forward to going to a place thats better than this earth.

YOU CANT CHANGE THE THINGS YOU HAVE DONE IN THE PAST AND HOPEFULLY YOU LEARN FROM THE PAST WHERE YOU DONT DO THAT SAME THING AGAIN. ITS CALLED REPENTANCE AND MAKING THINGS RIGHT WITH GOD AND ASKING FOR FORGIVENESS. GO TO GOD WITH IT ONLY HE CAN MAKE IT RIGHT.
