Started on piano about seven yrs old, picked up guitar shortly thereafter, clarinet in middle school, tuba in high school, guitar again after I got out of the service. Now I have daughters that play piano, violin, and soon they will be starting the French horn.
Couldn't live without some kind of instrument, or wouldn't want to.

Piano and guitar I have both played professionally.
Violin I play socially
I started on clarinet and haven't touched it since I was 13, and I'll never touch one again.

used to play guitar rather good but now am a musicologist , and the theory and history of music to me is far more exciting than learning how to play, music theory leads right to Pythagorean esoteric ism, ancient magicians and ancient math mystics and explains super string theory which i believe Pythagoras already discovered centuries ago in ancient Greece, Einstein believed the universe hummed at b flat, this is consistant with Pythagorean theory of cosmology, harmony of the spheres
