I'm with Juan_Kasoff on this. The Yanks were the biggest financers of Irish republican terrorism in the UK.

And why all the fuss for less than 3,000 people? The Yanks killed 210,000 Japanese civilians at Hiroshima and Nagasaki - including babies, children, women, old people. I bet the asker doesn't even know the dates (without searching on the internet), let alone commemorate - they are 6th and 9th August.

Yanks are ignorant, hypocritical and insular. Osama, can you kill some more of them for me, please?

You asked what is on my mind on 9/11. so I'll tell you.
I'm wondering how long it will be before everybody wakes up to the truth about 9/11.
Yes, nearly 3000 people tragically dies. They were murdered by their own government.
Millions of people outside America are aware of this.
Mainstream TV in Holland and Australia have aired 'Loose Change' and 'In Plane Sight', two videos which demonstrate that it was an inside job.
The Guardian has articles the last two days supporting the fact that it was an inside job.
And if Americans don't wake up to what's happening to them, then there will be an even bigger 9/11 when Bush decides he wants another war, this time in Iran. As for we Brits, e had our own 9/11 on 7/7. That too was an inside job, carried out by MI6 in the same way that the CIA carried out 9/11.
When people eventually wake up that the Secret Services have a mind control project, of which these events were part, then we will be able to prevent their terrorism. But until such time, it will continue unabated, and thousands more innocent people will die, with the survivors blaming all the activity on Muslims when they have no part in it.

That's what's on my mind on 9/11.

No joke, no sympathy, just an observation; it's 11/9 in the UK.

I can't help thinking that the young British men involved in the planning of the attacks on the London transport system last year chose the date (7/7) with a certain sense of irony.

Let's hope that America never forgets 9-11-01.

Is it a coincidence that America hasn't had any terrorist attacks in the past five years? I don't think so.

On a sad note, I noticed that Garry Trudeau's Doonesbury, who is constantly attacking George Bush, completely ignored the subject of 9-11 in today's cartoon.

I'm thankful that no member of my family and friends were hurt on the 11th of September, but feel for the people who were involved.

I was in London during the bombing last year and have seen the affect of terrorism. along with most of the UK (we've lived in the Shadow of terrorists for decades) i would never give in to terrorists, its been the British stand for ages- never to negotiate with terrorists. i did what most Londoners did in the evening of the day of the bombings, i got on a bus and got on with life.

To the guy who commented about the US public funding the IRA:

Yes this did happen and some can see it as double standards. However that was quite some time ago and i would like to believe that Irish Americans no longer fund murderers, esp now that they have seen the damage terrorism causes.

Cat - you are totally out of order to suspect musui of being Muslim, like that matters anyway. even if he/she is Muslim doesn't mean they support the terrorist, do all catholics support the IRA?

I can understand that people who lost loved ones are still affected by the date. This shows their humanity and I am sure most of us empathise with them.

I also think we should put things in perspective. Around 3000 people lost their lives. Yes it is sad.

But how many people died in the Rwandan genocide? How many people are massacred in Darfur? Why aren't we as concerned about this as we are about '9/11'?

Is it because the media is not in our faces on these events?
Is it because the lives of people in Africa are not worth that of people in the US?
Is it because these massacres took place over time and there isn't a convenient date to attach to them?

Good God are you yanks STILL banging on about this? Get Over It. Yes it was a shock. Yes it was upsetting. Yes it was a cowardly act of terrorism. But wake up. You are not the only nation on earth to experience terrorism- some countries have been putting up with it for decades. Stop looking at the past and start looking forward as to how we can beat the terrorists. The more you whine on about how sad it all is the more they become satisfied. Grow some bollocks, take it on the chin and get on with living.

I think what happened on 9/11 was a terrible loss of innocent civillian life.

But considering the Yanks were funding the IRA for the longest time it was sadly apt that they too experienced what it was to have their civillians murdered by fanatics who had a beef with their government.

If it made them think and stopped the so called Irish-Americans sending money to the fuckin IRA then it at least did some good.

I am thinking the same thing, it was the most catastrophic act that could have been prevented, i watched the film on BBC2 tonight "path to 9/11" and it could have been prevented on many occasions, they knew about it as early as 1994, possibly before that, the guy who did the 1993 bombing is serving 240 years in prison, but he told all his "clan" what he planned to do, well they obviously took over on that score, but on a larger scale, he was devising a plan to blow up 9 planes over the pacific, hijacking planes and blowing them up in the air etc and he said that he wanted to kill thousands to get back at America, my god how sick is that guy, i was screaming at the TV it got me so mad. I wish i could have 2 Min's in his cell with him. The US government is a little....... useless, they should get rid of the president and the let the citizens of USA deal with it they would get further. (no offence to any USA citizens reading this, I am totally on your side guys). x x x x x x x x Oh and musui you got to be muslim right? Thats totally out of order, the citizens of USA can't be blamed for their government, almost all of them don't agree with the way the government deals with things, get a life and get over yourself, 2 thousand odd lives is a lot, they were innocent!!!!!!.
