I think you already have god answers especially from amannn.
Beck in History: Macedonia was Empire (Macedonian Imperialism- Envy) when 4 Greeks tribes come from Africa. They killed between self. They accepted Goodness of Macedonians, Mountain Olympe is in Macedonia, why they not say Goodness are in others mountains who are more higher than Olympe and they are in Greece?! They accepted Zeus. When they feard of Persians Alexander Grkofile helped them, he was before Philip. Alexander of Macedon son of Philip occupied Greek tribes, but he was god with them and made Hellenic Federation, dial in place Ellas. But Greeks were not god, so much Greeks were in Persian Army against Macedonia. 20000 Macedonians solders and only 7000 Greek solders.
Alexander respected occupied people, he clothes in Persian clothes and took Roxana for wife, also Greeks Historians agree that Alexander respected Greeks, but that not make him Greek or Persian.
Greek think they are still in Federation with Macedonia, but that is not Truth, they occupied Macedonia, because they killed and banished Macedonians.
They also said that Byzantine Empire was Greek Empire?! In time of Byzantine Empire there were not inhabitants in Greece and because that Byzantine Empire settled Greece with Georgians . Greek have very little Ancient Greek heredity. Next they will say that Ottoman Empire was Greek. They fear because Greece wit out Macedonia is nothing, Alexander made him country.
About coini language( "Ancient Greek"):Macedonians had own language, but they used common coini language with foreigners, coini language have too much Macedonians words, Greeks use coini language mixed with Turkish words..
About Aegean Macedonia: Greeks say Ancient names of places are changed, yes because Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman Empire, but that were not Greek names, they were clearly Macedonian names.
England make this new country Greece and helped to kill and banished Macedonians, that make Greece England Neo Colony. Greece with out Aegean Macedonia is nothing, because this fact they fear.

The Greeks say historical Macedonia is within their borders, and therefore, the Republic of Macedonia should be caused something else. Macedonia comes from Yugoslavia. The name the UN has Macedonia registered is Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. Also, Greece did not like that Macedonia had successionist language, for certain parts of northern Greece, in its constitution.

They didn't only steal a part but they did ethnic cleansing of the Macedonians in this part. Many refugees are still alive and there are many books about it. Even an anthropologist with a Greek origin wrote a book. The name of the book is: Fields of Wheat, Hills of Blood: Passages to Nationhood in Greek Macedonia. (Anastasia Karakasidou)

They are scared that they might have to leave Northern Greece just like what happened in the Gaza strip!!! That is why!, they know that the world expecially strong countries like United States knows that Macedonia was one and that greece has a part! That is why Greeks cried to US to reconsider when they recognized Macedonia as a country!! They are like babies!! US even states in there information website www.state.gov/r/pa/ei/bgn/26759.htm under history that Macedonia was divided!! Greek LIES can only go so far!!! Ragzeus= First of all MACEDONIA was always call MACEDONIA even when we were under Yugoslavia we were a province in yugoslavia! The reason why we had to state the name Former Yugoslav Republic Of Macedonia is because Greece was the only country in the EU that would not regonize us! And Greece had there Borders closed to Macedonia for many many years and there was no embargo!! So clearly every question you answer makes no sense and everbody knows that you and many other haters are MACEDONIAN but BRAINWASHED by Greeks!!!

Wow!!! I’m really content to see so many foolish Greek idiots getting energized with hatred and disgust, it makes ‘em look funny and it makes me happy! YEAH BABY!
Oh! And as for my answer: it’s going historical, Greece is trying to misinformation that Macedonia comes from Elada (old Greece) so that’s why they call Macedonia – FYROM (Former Yugoslav Republic Of Macedonia), ‘cos if they recognize Macedonia under it’s rightful name – it will mean that they admit their propaganda… but don’t worry about them baby, they couldn’t make difference between a dog and a fox! :)

This question is expressing propaganda, and completely unhistorical views.
(Probably the asker is a fake identity).
Let’s see the truth!
Macedonia or Macedon as we all know is a Greek region (in proper Greek “Mακεδονία”) it is actually one of the biggest regions of Greece and it has played a most significant part in Greek history!
The real Macedonia in Greece was the birth place of Alexander the Great!
Alexander created a gigantic Greek empire and he is responsible for the spreading of Greek culture and language around the world!
There is also a Slavic/Albanian state which emerged from Yugoslavia and is called Republic of Makedonija.
That Slavic/Albanian state is using as international name the Greek name “Macedonia” and this is causing confusion with real Macedonia which is in Greece.
United Nations and European Union has forced the state of Makedonijia to negotiate with Greece in order to reach to an acceptable name for international use { For those who don’t know Republika Makedonja is officially translated by UN (and officially recognized by UN and European Union) as Former Yugoslavia Republic of Macedonia (FYROM).}
Also a lot of people don’t know that the international name of a state is decided by international law, international agreements and treaties under the authority of United Nations! You can not choose what ever name you like for international use! An example is what happened to Austria! After the fall of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and from 1918 it was known as the Republic of German-Austria (Republik Deutsch-Österreich), but the state was forced to change its name to "Republic of Austria" in 1919 peace Treaty of Saint-Germain! After the war every state that wishes to enter the United Nation had to make sure that its international name wasn’t violating the interest of any other country and was not against international law!
This is the case for Makedonija. It can use its own name (Makedonija) but for international use it has to follow the UN resolutions!
And this is what that state does:” On 22 January 1999, Ambassador of the FYROM (Slavic/Albanian Macedonia) to USA, Ljubica Achevska gave a speech on the present situation in the Balkans. In answering questions at the end of her speech Mrs. Acevshka said: "We do not claim to be descendants of Alexander the Great … Greece is Macedonia’s second largest trading partner, and its number one investor. Instead of opting for war, we have chosen the mediation of the United Nations, with talks on the ambassadorial level under Mr. Vance and Mr. Nemitz." In reply to another question about the ethnic origin of the people of FYROM, Ambassador Achevska stated that "we are Slavs and we speak a Slav language”.
The funny think is that because that state uses the Greek name Macedonia some of the Slav-Macedonians (the Slav inhabitants and not the Albanians of the Makedonija) actually believe that they are the real Macedonians and also not Slavs!
This of course is against their country’s policy and they violate their government’s effort for stability!
(Also note that the state of Makedonija (FYROM or Slavic/Albanian Macedonia) clearly affirms (against the few fanatics) that it has no connection with real Macedonia in Greece and it is determined to negotiate under the authority of the United Nations!
(you can see from the answers of Solun/Aman (it is the same person) the hate of the few fanatics! Notice also the answer from amethyst who instead of answering or argue he is attacking me! Pity!)

To (I consider her my friend) Karolina:
Have you actually read the book of Ms Karakasidou?
If you have read it you will see that it refers to a period of 1870 - 1990 and it refers to a specific village and not for entire Greek-Macedonia. The book refers clearly about a village Guvezna and now known as Assiros were altered from an Ottoman cocktail of Turks, Slavs and Greeks to the mono-ethnic culture present of today. She never mentions any “Macedonians” but she is mainly referred to Slavs of Bulgarian origin! She also explains that the main procedure of homogenization was the exchange of population between Bulgaria and Greece.
She clearly states that the Slavs mainly moved in Bulgaria while at the same time the Greeks of Bulgaria and the Greeks of Monastery region (present day Bitola in FYROM) moved in Greece.
The Greeks of FYROM were also forced before and mainly after the Second World War to move to Greece or to hide their identity (under the communist dictatorship of TITO).
Don’t forget that the Ottoman census of Hilmi Pasha (1904) indicates that at the
Vilaeti of Monastiri(present day Bitola) Greeks: 261,283 Bulgarians: 178,412 and the
Santzaki of Scopje Greeks: 13,452 Bulgarians: 172,735.
Can you please answer me are all those Greeks now?
As for the Turks, there was also a (painful for the Greeks) exchange of population between Greece and Turkey. 450.000 Muslims left Greece for Turkey and at the same time 1.500.000 Greeks left Asia Minor and came to Greece!
As you can see there weren’t any references about “Macedonians” in Greece but only about Slavs. There wasn’t any organized ethnic cleansing but an exchange of populations (either by war or by international treaties) between Slavs (either in Bulgaria or Yugoslavia) and Greeks.
Those that remain, especially the Greeks of FYROM and Bulgaria and the (very few) Slavs in Greece, suffered the usual oppression of the cold war in any of the 3 states during the 50es and 60es.
So remember each time you wonder about the Slavs of Greece always remember the Greeks of Monastery (Bitola)
(Also I would like to mention that Karolina is a kind person that tries to use arguments and post documented answers and although I disagree with her I enjoy discussion with her! What a difference from the hate comments of few of the others)
