how can i sell everything i own and relocate without anyone finding out where i relocated???

1. Put your stuff up for sale on Craigslist--indicate cash only.
2. Close all your credit card accounts, except for one. Close all your bank accounts, except for one.
3. Start paying for everything in cash only.
4. Buy newspaper of the city/town where you want to live. Look for job / apartment.
5. Buy a ticket (pay with cash) on Greyhound bus.
6. Once you sign a lease (which probably cannot be done without credit card and bank acct), you should cancel the credit card and bank acct.
7. After you secure a job, open a new bank acct (with a bank that you've never used before--a small, LOCAL savings bank is best). You should probably just use cash for a couple of years. Credit/debit cards are probably one of the best ways to find someone.
8. Good luck if you are trying to hide or escape from something bad in your current place.

If you have a social security # you can be traced but only by creditors but they can't release it to anybody because of the privacy act. If you get a phone don't get it in your old name. An address can be traced by a phone # Move to another coast or city. Get a new legal name. You'll need a birth certificate and a social security card. Don't use any credit cards in your old name; they can be traced to the place they were last used. Good luck.

Unfortunately, as citizens of the world, we're just names & numbers at the end of the day. If you sell all of your stuff, you'll still be traceable if your names on on utilities, etc, or if you purchase a house, they list that in the papers a lot of time.

The only way to HELP to make a clean start is to change your name.

Even this isn't foolproof.

But if you're doing this if you feel you're in harms way, call the police, or call a woman's center for help.

If you are going in hiding I suggest contacting a woman's group. They can help with the sale of your things. Make sure to forward your mail to a secure place and don't let anyone know where your moving unless it is someone you totally trust. Good Luck
