Okay, I'm extremely nervous! I am going to the 'Exploring College Options' event tonight (5 major colleges including the ones listed above are going to be there), and we are supposed to ask questions about the schools. The problem is that I have no idea what to ask! I want to know about the admissions process, entrance requirements, and the benefits of going to such colleges, but I'm not sure how to word those questions and if they are appropriate! Could you please help me figure out what to say; I'm dying here?!?

Ask questions like admissions yield (number of applications per number of actual spots in the freshman class), job offer percentage on graduation, number of alumni who donate (that's usually a good sign of how happy the alums are with the school), YOUNG alumni who donate (because some schools have changed over the last 40 years, it's the younger alums who have the most recent experiences with the school), graduation rate, transfer percentages...and of the harvard guy, ask whether grade inflation is still an issue. It used to be that 50% of Harvard students got an A in their class.

Here's a fabulous Yepic article on how to get into those top universities. It has a great section on what they're looking for. I know you've already attended that meeting, but the content in this article is highly relevant to you if you're seriously considering attending an ivy league school. https://yepic.com/index.php?module=readArticles&articleID=22
