No, not at all. The reader doesnt really care much about the author and what sex they are, just how damn good the book is!!!

No. Just because your the author doesnt mean you should do a third person because you are female and the main character is a male. You are writing fiction not reality. When others read it they are not thinking of you. They are getting into the story and thinking of the main character.
Go ahead write it as first person.

I was attracted by your promise of easy points =)
Many authors have adopted the opposite sex perspective in the past so why not you?
If you need to run a couple of scentences past guys to ask if they think thats how men think, then post them here, and I and I'm sure others will read them, and give you our opinions

Go for it. but I'd say you might want to filter it through some male friends(not a boyfriend or husband). to see if your character is an accurate guy or a womans version of a guy.

definitely not, one of my favorite books is about a women, its called Hide and Seek and it's written by James Patterson, the reason I loved this book was because the male author could put himself in a women's shoes and do it realistically

No it isn't weird at all. But be sure to do some good research with some males who may have ideas that you aren't familiar with.'

not at all. in a well writen story a reader will become lost in the world of the story and never give any thought to who wrote it. (at least not as it applies to the story itself.)
