Nobody who hits another person is a hero. The hero is the person who walks awya with their head held high. There's no excuse for violence on either side and if you think otherwise, you need educating. There are a lot of men out there who suffer from domestic abuse. Granted, the figure is less than that of women, but the pain is still the same. Would you call Mrs X a hero because she beat Mr X for not doing the ironing?

Not saying this is right, but men are naturally stronger than women physically, so if he hit her like a man he could really hurt her or kill her. That is why the domestic violence law went into effect. Some people feel that if a woman hits a man it is justified because of all the great many injustices he has enacted upon her(generally speaking)

Says who? The law varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction but, generally, it's illegal for anybody (either gender) to hit someone else (either gender) with or without the victim's consent (e.g. a dominatrix hitting a consenting man could, in some states, still be prosecuted even if the guy she hit says that he asked for it and ENJOYED it) If the cops don't want to enforce the law and arrest her, the guy can usually file criminal charges himself. Here in New Mexico, it would be done in either Municipal, Magistrate or Metropolitan Court. Plus, generally, anyone that is the victim of domestic violence, regardless of gender or sexual persuasion, can file for an "order of protection" or "restraining order."

I guess because a man is a lot stronger then a woman. i'm a woman and alot of other women would probably disagree with me, but if a woman hits a man first she should expect to get hit back.

It's wrong either way, and if a woman hits a man, she should be prepared to take a hit from a man. I don't promote violence but I cannot stand it when a woman hits a man but acts like a man can't hit her back. Don't start sumthin' ya can't finish...

Chauvinism, a man will be branded because he`s not supposed to hit a woman, so get`s done for it. A woman is seen as a victim, so fighting back is seen as a step-up for other women to stop taking the crap.

I don't know about the hero part for women, but I guess it is taught to me from birth that no matter what you don't put your hands on a woman because men are stronger. There are women out there that do take advantage of this fact and try to abuse it.

It probably has a lot to do with the size and srenghth of the two...usually women are at a distinct disadvantage in a fight with a guy.

Men should not hit women and women should not hit men.... This is very childish.... People should also be able to talk at a normal voice...
