I have a regular xbox but my friend has an xbox 360. We both have fight night round 3 for our respective systems. He has a xbox live account, so if I get an account will I be able to play him even though we have different systems? Also, I bought an xbox 360 live subscription card instead of a regular xbox live card, does it matter? Thanks!

Yes you can. Providing you are both playing an XBOX 1 Game, and not an Xbox 360 game. Though some games like battlefield 2 may work when you are using the Xbox 1 Version, and your friend is using the XBox 360 version, but I am only guessing.

I know I have played Halo 2 on my Xbox 360, with my friend who has just the regular Xbox and also has Halo 2.

You can play with him online only if you both used Xbox 1 games.

I don't think that would work. I don't think the card matters, though.
