Okay, so I was on the nuva ring and I didn't get it in time to put it back in. I figured I'd wait until after I started again to put a new one in. I never started again. I should have started around the 24th of August. That was the same weekend that we moved, I finished classes at school, I transferred to a new school, and started classes at that new school. I haven't had any of the traditional symptoms of pregnancy either. I am going on 2 weeks late. There was a lot of stress because of all those things that I have mentioned. I took 2 tests last week and another one today, all have been negative. Am I just stressing myself out more, or could I really be pregnant and the tests are just wrong?!

Sounds to me like a lot of stress related issues, which as you know, can cause all kind of weird things to happen in our bodies. I would wait another week, try to stay calm during this week, and then test yourself. Don't worry about it...............it is what it is. We all get so worked up over situations that are out of our control which is bad for our health. Keep the mindset that you'll deal with whatever happens when you know all the details of the situation.

Best of Luck!

As to your last sentence-question, both could be true. The over the counter urine tests are very sensitive now, but best to do it on off first morning urination, which is more concentrated. Do another tomorrow Monday AM on the first morning urine. If that's still negative, so far so good.

Next, when you say you should have started 8/28, are you thinking of your pre-Nuva days, or your Nuva-Ring days? Recall what your cycle length was BEFORE Nuva-Ring; if it was every 28 days exactly, that's one thing, but if you had a longer or a variable cycle length it may just not be time yet. The key point is that you always ovulate 14 days before your NEXT period. Sometimes that helps with predictions.

Depending on your pre-Nuva cycle & how long you've been regularly menstruating and how long you were on Nuva-Ring, there is a variable amount of time before your own hypothalamus & pituitary glands kick back in. Significant stress, which you have, throws that off quite a bit. Hopefully what is going on is merely a delay in resumption of menses due to the combination of these issues.

Now, going back to your cycle length on pre-Nuva days, figure out the SHORTEST duration of pre-ovulation days historically. If you were always 28 days, then the answer is 14d. If you ranged from say 26-32 days, then the answer is 12 days. Start by presuming that you ovulated right on schedule; add the number above to the first day of your last period. Then go back in your memory and check the calendar & do the arithmetic to determine your risk of an undesired pregnancy. You are most likely to get pregnant in the two days before to one day after ovulation. If you had unprotected intercourse, especially on those days, AND the home urine HCG test is negative in the am, consider a serum pregnancy test. That will give you about a few days to a weeks lead time.

If you are a student, go in with all these calculations to the student health service & ask for a serum Beta-HCG (the placenta hormone that signifies implantation of fertilized egg).

And I'm certain you know now how to prevent this stress on yourself next time. Starting with things at the refill/pharmacy level, condoms, and also the menses-inducing "Plan B" would have been an option early on.

I'm not trying to be patronizing, just hope you never need go through his again--it's just that we all wish for all pregnancies to be desired pregnancies, & this chaos right now is distracting from your studies. Good luck & feel free to let me know how things work out for you.

this is typical for stress to react this way with your period. youve done a lot in the past two weeks, this i believe has got your body all tense and stressed. if youve done three prego tests and all are negative, i believe it's time to try to relax and adjust to the move and new classes at a school. dont stress about being pregnant, and eventually your body will do it's thing. if you dont have a period in two more weeks, i would go and see the doctor. something else could be wrong,.. but it's sounding like youre stressed.

First off stress can through your period off...also when you mess up your birth control it can effect your period...I was on the patch and I forgot to put one back on one week so it did it a few days late and ended up with 2 periods that month only 2 weeks apart. If it concerns you too much call your doctor and see what they suggest..I hearing call the doctor but they would know more about it and your case then anyone on here!!

stress doe affect the way your body functions. but if you've already taken OTC pregnancy tests (one that was taken just today) and they all came out negative, there's probably nothing to worry about. If you have a doctor, you should maybe make an appointment (or go to Planned Parenthood) and find out FOR SURE if you are pregnant. better safe than sorry.

you could be pregnant but a lot of it could be that you were on birth control and that you were late on getting it so you threw your body threw trauma ( your body is in stress) but your best bet is to call your Dr and get a blood test the hcg in your urine might not be strong enough to show weather or not your pregnant. the hcg level in urine test is usually any where from 25 to 50 depending on the test but if you get a blood test it would show if your level is a 6. most symptoms of pregnancy doesn't show at 2 weeks thou too

I would say that, no, you are not pregnant. Girls can skip periods because of all kinds of different things including stress, more physical activity...stuff like that. I would say try two at home tests one on a monday morning then one on a friday morning and if they are negative dont sweat it.

you could just be stressed out. The body acts crazy during tense times. To be sure, go to a doctor.
