I'll tell you how teaching Creationism could make a difference. Thought and reason would be out the window. No matter the fossil record, no matter the genetics, no matter the facts. Children would learn that they should just not think at all but instead become witless cliff-diving lemmings, willing to follow any religious leader who tells them God said "Jump!"
