I can't believe I'm actually answering this question.
Try using match sticks.
Tear out all the matches from a book of matches.
Lay them on the table.
Count them in three rows of seven.
add the three rows together and you should come up with....

3x7=21

this is how it works...
3x1=3
3x2=6
3x3=9
3x4=12
3x5=15
3x6=18
3x7=21
and so on...

multiplication is just the number of times you add a number.
ex.) 3x10=30
3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3+3=30 (this is ten threes being added together)
