Fanshaw. There's a performance dance group called 'The Cholmondleys & The Featherstonehaughs' and I was told by a tutor at college it was pronounced 'The Chumleys and The Fanshaws'.

As already indicated, Featherstonehaugh IS pronounced "Fanshaw". Interestingly the almost identical surname Featherstonehugh is pronounced "Freestonhue". English names huh?

Ignore everyone else, the guy who said "Fanshaw" has got it spot on.
One of the rudimentary oddities of the English language there. I'd hate to be the person with the double barreled name Featherstonehaugh-Cholmondeley.

The Correct way to pronounce it would be Fanshaw but it is becoming acceptable to say Feather-stone-haw.

OK there's a family at my mom's church by that name who pronounce it "feather-stun-haw" but my mom said this, and I quote,
"Although Grandma says it should be pronounced 'Fanshaw'. [pause] I know Grandma's dead."
So I'd say it depends on the person.
