depend on how long of shower you take for most shower ..Typical non-conserving showerheads have flow rates of 5 to 8 gallons per minute, meaning that a typical 5-minute shower would send about 25 - 40 gallons of fresh water down the drain and into the sewer. By contrast, modern low-flow showerheads use only 2.5 gallons per minute, or 12.5 gallons for a 5-minute shower, reducing water demand by at least 50% .So how big is your bath tub? How high do you fill the tub ?

I say bath uses more water - BUT it does depend on how long your shower is...If you take a 20 minute shower or less, you will use less water in the shower than a bath......If you take more than 25-30 minutes, you are using less water in the bath.....

Baths clearly take more water if you are going to rinse off with the shower at the end. If you fill the tub a second time to rinse off, that would take even more. So it's hard to say about someone who doesn't bother to rinse the soapy/dirty water off themselves before they get out of the tub . . . believe it or not, there are people.

I think baths use more water. Then again it all depends on how much water you put in the tub or how long you stay in the shower.

Just time how long it takes to fill up the bathtub. If it takes 10 minutes and a shower takes 20 minutes, then you'll use twice as much water. If you shower for 5 minutes, then it's the opposite.

It all depends. Women use more water in the shower; men use more in the tub.
