That is great! But dont you think you got many other things to do before sleeping. Like watching some shows, homework, and all other things. You only need eight hours of sleeping, which means you should go to bed at 10 PM. You're in high school so you probably got a lot of homework and things to study than lower grades so do expect to sleep a little late. I think this is a good question and I hope I helped you.

Studies have shown that teenagers need more than 9 hours of sleep each night, but because your body is changing and a hormone called melatonin, which regulates your sleeping and waking patterns, is produced later at night in teenagers, it makes it harder for you to fall asleep early.

But if you don't get enough sleep you will end up stressed, won't be able to study properly, be too tired to participate in sports and chronic lack of sleep can lead to depression. Teenagers commonly lack in self confidence and have mood swings, but sleep deprivation makes it worse.

So don't mind what time others go to bed at, you are getting the right amount of sleep and you should be far better able for school, have a nicer personality, be less grumpy and have more self confidence because of it.

See the sites below for more information on sleep and how to get to sleep even if you don't feel tired at bedtime.

My 13 y.o. and my 15 y.o niece and nephew that I take care of go to sleep around 10. Then again they dont have to be up until 7. On weeknights (Fr/SA) they can stay up until 1-2.
