I dont think so. Ithink it could be lack of a healthy diet and exercise. I dont liketo see or hear of people undergoing surgery for minor things. But I do know of a program that might help you. You can try it for a month and see what happens if nothing changes then you can go forward with your surgery but I think it will work. There are all kinds of reasons for leg pains in the elderly.

For minor leg pains here's a home remedy that you can try.

Get a bar of soap. Any soap you like. Unwrap it and place it under the bottom sheet on your bed at your leg level. The bottom sheet just holds it in place so that it doesn't get kicked around. After a few nights of sleeping with the soap near your legs, the pains will diminish or go away completely. Sounds pretty crazy, but it works.

Give it a try, what can you lose.

first of all what is the pain from arthritis or?

i have a few elderly friends who have tried acupuncture... seems to work well after getting a few treatments.
