I'm not a beginner but I've got an electric piano Yamaha P-60 and it cost £600. I think it would be good as a beginners piano though because it sounds a lot like the real thing and comes with a pedal as well. Also there aren't many different settings so you are not wasting your money on functions that are unnecessary. I've been playing for about 10 years and even I would'nt have wanted a better one given the price and sound.
