"I had a lot of friends die in Iraq over this war," said Cloy Richards, a 23-year-old former Marine who served twice in Iraq. "The war is taking away money that could be helping to fund our education, our roads and our health care in Missouri."

"Send the twins to Iraq," Anne Pritchett, a teacher from Kansas City, yelled before the reception began. "Our tax dollars are paying for him to slide in here and drive around in SUVs, the worst gas-guzzlers in the world.

"If Bush supported the war, he’d send his own children."

Well, its not really Bush or Cheney's decision to send their kids, since their kids are adults they make their own choices. As for everyone else who is at war, once again Bush and Cheney didn't force them to sign up for military service either. I support our troups 110%, but nobody forced them to sign up for the military. When a person joins the service, they know what they may be getting themself into. ANY president could have launched some sort of an attack, what about the soldiers who had to go to Bosnia on Clinton's watch (and are STILL there)...nobody was asking for Chelsea Clinton to enlist, were they? You should really think about your questions before you post them, check them to see if they are logical.

The War was won. We are defending a nation on it's knees from insurgance. Get the story straight before you shoot off questions with no meritt. Those we are fighting are 90%+ from Saudi, Pakistan, Iran and other SW Asian countries. Not Iraqi's

Do you support your local school? How about your fire station? Police department? Prison? Drug Enforcement? Better yet, do you support your Military?

Why isn't your kids or you part of all of these?

Bush is the President of the United States. His job is to make decisions and support decisions made by everyone from the Vice Pres to the Theatre Commender for SW Asia.

Get out of this dilusion that ANYONE should have to send their kids to any war. Thats why i signed the dotted line, so you and your kids didn't have to if you didn't want to. The same applies to the President and his Kids.

The way you speak, it sounds as if you want to take freedoms away from people....that isn't going to happen.

Just deal.

Bush is not supporting a war against Iraqi Citizens. He is helping the legitimately elected Iraqi government fight the terrorists who are attacking Iraq's citizens.

The Geneva Convention requires that we maintain our forces in Iraq until that country can handle its own national defense and internal security matters. Bush is doing what must be done.

If the terrorists would lay down their arms, Iraq's Citizens would no longer be harmed. If the US lays down its arms, Iraq's Citizens will suffer horrors such as we saw in Afghanistan during the 1990s.

Well, I wouldn't send my kid to war, whether I supported it or not. If it came HERE, THAT WOULD BE A DIFFERENT STORY. In any case, the Bush girls are adults and can make that decision for themselves. Cheney's daughter is a Lesbian, proud of who she is despite her Dad, so she would be denied service even tho she's a good republican.

To the people in power there are two kinds of people, and their kind do not fight in wars. That's what the other kind of people are for. That ticks me off too.

For those howling that it's a volunteer army---Many people join because it's the only way to get any decent opportunities at education and training. Generally the people with better options do not volunteer for the military.

I agree with you, but our military is a volunteer military. He wouldn't have the control to send his daughters over there....they're over 18 and have chosen not to enlist. I seriously doubt he's encourageed them to join, though.

It's volunteer by the individual if they want to join the service.
