America is the British colony previously. So that the American culture most of the time affected by British culture. However, the origin of American are Red Indian who are undershadow of the developed culture. Most of the time American culture is the hybrid culture rather than groomed culture.

American approach seem to be go and do it in force, the British approach be sneaky or take your time.
Best example being war stategies. The US roll thru and the British move in and clean up the mess.

Baseline view:
American: "We're number 1!"
British: "When in Rome, do as the Romans do."

Brits, in common with most non Americans will defer to local knowledge when in foreign parts.
Americans rarely if ever defer to local knowledge which tends to be interpreted as arrogance.
