i really do feel bad for those that have lost their loved ones, but i have to just say that it is another day. for all those people that lost their lives, think of the babies that were born that day, or the ones who survived. i know as humans, we tend to think of the negative, but i think if you have a loved one that lost their life, don't think about their tragic death. think about their wonderful life and the fact that they are looked at as heroes in many eyes. flight 293 is what always jumps in my head. those people gave their lives so that others would live. that was the ultimate sacrafice. so, like i said, let's just remember their lives and what they did for our country.

Good question. It's difficult to believe that tomorrow will be the 5th anniversary of 9/11. To me, it sometimes seems like that awful day just happened yesterday.
My feelings are that I wish hatred didn't exist on such a scale that any one group could just point some planes at some buildings and, with such a deep desire to destroy what they perceive to be their 'enemy', they are more than willing to destroy themselves - all in the name of a higher power.
Sometimes I think of how terrified the people on the planes must have been. A basic human response is fight or flight. If you're just having what you thought was a routine flight, thinking ahead to the rest of the day, the rest of the week, etc. - to go from that to the horror the passengers experienced is just really painful to imagine. I know my first reaction would have been to try to distance myself from the danger. But, how do you do that on an airplane? There's nowhere to run to.
Sometimes I think of the people working or visiting the Twin Towers. You know there are people who must have looked up and seen those jets heading right towards them. I can't even imagine.
Sometimes I think about the people who jumped from the towers - and for the people who witnessed it. None of us will ever know why they jumped, but my guess is that, for some, jumping to their deaths was a better option than what must have been intense fire and smoke on some of the floors.
Sometimes I think of the families who lost loved ones. I've always felt that some things in life that can happen to us are so horrible that life will never be the same. You just have to somehow learn to go on. Much, much easier said than done though.
Hatred is a terrible, terrible thing. It destroys everything and everyone it touches. Hatred is what allowed a September 11th to happen. Without it, a day like September 11th would just be a fictional horror story.

I guess I'll spend a little extra time in prayer, as I hope there is real hope for the answers to many of todays complex problems.I am proud to be an American, but I don't agree with a lot of the self-will policies our gov't takes despite our displeasure at them doing so.Thankfully, there still is freedom in america, and hopefully other places in the world too. MAY GOD BLESS ALL OF THOSE WHO PROTECT FREEDOM & TRUTH.
Last May, I was in a situation where I was near the WTC rubble. Its very eerie to STILL be able to smell the burnt jet fuel amongst the rubble almost 5yrs later. I know it wasn't yesterday, but it doesn't seem like 5yrs ago either.

I have been watching so many of the 9/11 shows it is just so disheartening. I have been crying for almost two days, it is just so sad I can't handle it. It seems like yesterday this happened, it certainly doesn't seem like it has been 5 years. I don't think they would be idiotic enough to try anything if that's what you mean. There will of course be extra security everywhere tomorrow.

Invictus by W. E. Henley
Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be,
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance,
I have winced but not cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance,
My head is bloodied but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears,
Looms but the horror of the shade.
And yet the menace of the years,
Finds, and shall find me, unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.
I will always remember that day, and I am sad and angry still.......but........WE ARE AMERICANS!

I'm just deeply saddened of all the innocent lives that were taken.
I think of all the people who got up that day before those awful events occurred thinking it was just going to be another day during the week and now 5 yrs later, it's called Patriot Day.
We shall never forget...

Just another day. We americans tend to over sensationalize everything, Tragically a lot of people were killed, but in comparison to the rest of the country, it was actually a tiny event in the scheme of things. It had no affect on me in the central part of the country until the govt idiots started acting like we were being invaded by hordes of terrorists. Haven't seen them yet! Now the families want a $500 million memorial, we just recently got a memorial that cost far less for WWII soldiers, millions of them. In Okla City, they built a big memorial to the Murrah bombing and act like it was the biggest crisis that ever happened on earth. News media is to blame for much of that, we have 200,000 people killed in a giant earthquake and tidal wave; and while there was a lot of attention for that, it was nothing compared to the 9/11 reaction.
