Could be in the bristol channel.

we have them in british waters anyway. sitings are increasing as the seas warm up.
The common stingrays have occasionally been spotted off the coast in previous years, but catches and sightings have risen in the past year as the fish move north from more established habitats in the Bay of Biscay and the Mediterranean.

The rays, cousins of the similarly sized bull ray that last week killed Steve Irwin, the Australian naturalist, can be dangerous if provoked but are generally placid.

“We can regard them as a resident species throughout the year and it is likely they are breeding in waters from Cornwall in the west to Dorset in the east,” said Kelvin Boot, director of the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth.

“It would not surprise us to know there is an increase when you consider the other species of fish we are now finding in our waters which are moving in from warmer areas.”

No, it wasn't the best special/episode that I've seen. I think it was pretty good, and sort of a light-hearted episode to ease us into the specials... well, thats what I think anyway. I though that there were great lines in there ("You look human" "You look Timelord!") and the acting was well done. I like the design of the monsters, and thought the way they were merely following "the cycle of life" was nice, in a way, the way that the enemy wasn't really intentionally trying to kill people and eat them alive, for the mere sake of eating them alive. I also found the shots on the desert fantastic, and the way they used an actual desert was still well done and like an 'alien planet'. I felt a bit sad when the Doctor didn't take Christina with him, and found it a bit sad the way he is sad... and the reference to Donna, "I had a friend who used to call me 'spaceman'..." and the way he said it... it was sad... The cliffhanger was the best! "Your song must end soon-" okay, regeneration... going over the Ood's prediction, gotcha! "-it is returning... through the dark-" right, so another 'the dark', and lots of things might return... Time Lordy stuff hopefully! "-he will knock four times..." you've lost me! Well, sorta... hopefully a Wilf or a Master or something else Time Lordy (I know Wilf isn't a timelord, but y'know what I mean!)! There were flaws (bus number plates and so on), but I'm concentrating on the better bits at the moment... like the cliffhanger.... :-)

yes... iv caught many in the Themes...... about 16 miles out by a place called "Red Sands Towers" ...is around 250ft with a drop to 530ft......and a sand bottom...the bigest iv seen was a 25Ib ray , back in 1985...!! .... The water there is very clean and has good flow , so many Rays feed there , Thornbacks are the most you will catch but the odd Sting Ray will come up with a nice bait..

yes, for short periods in the summer when the water is warm enough, but they are pretty rare. You also get sharks in our waters so there not as safe as you think (they are basking sharks so i wouldn't worry too much)
