Windex is good but vinegar and water works great, dry with newspaper no streaks

I use a drop or two of dish soap in a few gallons of water. The best time to wash windows is on a cloudy day with high humidity.

I have tried windex and newspapers and prefer the soap, mit and squeegie method.

Forget the mitts and squeegee, no soap. ........ use white vinegar and newspaper. The vinegar cuts through any filmy residue and the ink in the newspaper polishes, it's lint free, leaving sparkling clean windows that have a gleam like expensive leaded glass.

Add just a few drops of dish detergent (I use Ivory) to your hot wash water. There is no need to rinse. Dry with all cotton rags made from your old sheets.
