This is one of the standard recipes for removing glue stains....

1. Scrape and remove excessive stain using a blunt spatula, spoon or bone scraper. Never use a knife because it might harm the fibers.
2. Mix one teaspoon of a mild pH balanced detergent (a mild non alkaline non bleaching detergent) with a cup of lukewarm water.
3. Blot the stain.
4. Mix one tablespoon of household ammonia with a half cup of water.
5. Blot the stain.
6. Mix one teaspoon of a mild pH balanced detergent (a mild non alkaline non bleaching detergent) with a cup of lukewarm water.
7. Blot the stain.
8. Sponge with clean water.
9. Blot the stain.

These sites have additional suggestions. I hope this helps.

Go to Home Depot or Lowe's and get GOO REMOVER, or something named like that. In HOme Depot, it's usually right up at the check out register stands. It's a small brown bottle, only a few bucks. Its made to get rid of bubble gum in carpet, and dissolve the adhesives of some tapes like duct and maksing tapes. Good luck.

I was going to respond with the same answer -- the towel and the iron. Just a side note -- this will also work with candle wax.
