I'm not sure what you mean by epoxy kits....but I painted my garage floor with an epoxy paint that I had mixed at a Sherwin Williams paint store. Since it is epoxy based, there is a "pot life" once you open the container. So your garage surface needs to be completely prepared before you apply the paint.
I've had the paint on for more than 5 years and it is very rugged. No chips or flakes, and it's easy to sweep and wash off. The only downside might be that when I do wash the surface, it is very slippery. You need to be careful if there is water on the painted floor.
One other comment....since I had the paint mixed for me, I picked a color that complemented my house paint. You don't have to have a grey floor in your garage if you don't want to.

I have used it once with not such good results and yet I did everything right.. First f all, of course, you have to apply acid to thoroughly clean the floor and then apply the expoxy stuff. One of the keys to it being effective is that AFTER you clean with acid and then apply the epoxy, to STAY OFF of it for several days.. not just one day.

I've used them a lot. I get the epoxy from SHERWIN-WILLIAMS. Works very good, holds up very well to heavy traffic. Your car/truck tires won't hurt it. It lasts for years. Once you mix it, you only have a certain amount of time to use it. Where ever you buy it, they will explain everything to you.

I use it a wee bit in constrction, i think its pretty cool, yet in saying that it does wear out after a great deal of use ie/ 2 years, but its easy enough to repiant it, even if you just masked up 2 even straight parrallel lines and simply paint them!
Hope i helped!
