No. It's called "stripping the membrane" and I don't recommend even letting your doctor do it! I had it done with my last pregnancy and it was HORRIBLY painful...even for days after and it didn't induce labor. I also bled afterward which scared me.

No - you CANNOT strip your own membranes.... this would be very dangerous, as you can inadvertantly break your water or even worse cause infection. You need to speak with you obgyn regarding this. First of all... it cannot even be done until you are FULL TERM (37 weeks) and WILL NOT be done unless your cervix is soft & ripening. Ask your doctor about it. Many doctors wont even do this until you have reached or passed your due date. Dont risk it - you can wait - your baby is worth it.

Do you mean break your own water? IF so, I believe no I think it is impossible for you to do so and unhealthy to as well.
