basically the dudes girlfreind cheated on him

so he wrote a song, but in the song he like exaggerated the situation by making it about how the bride is cheated on her groom, maybe on the wedding day, maybe before

but the groom only found out on the wedding day and so the wedding was ruined

"but look at it this way, technically our marrige is saved, so pour the champaign"

and the title, i dont know, maybe the situation was a sin - like it was wrong - but it wasnt realy the end of the world, like it wasnt a tragedie - they all just moved on with their lives

its a great song, they are a great band - i was so stoked for them when they won a VMA - next up Grammies!!!!!!!

Some people interpret it differently. The song itself is that the groom hears people talking about his bride to be being a whore and he tries to rationalize it. The video concept is that the wife is from a very upper class family, but the groom is from this circus freak family and she has a problem with that. His family tries showing him that she's too good for him and at the end we find out that the lead singer (Brenden) was his concious the whole time. The song is kinda annoying now. It was good until it got tremendously overplayed.

Panic! At The Disco's songs really don't have much meaning to me...my favorite is "The only difference between martyrdom and suicide is press coverage" but I just listen to that for entertainment...to me, their songs are like certain forms of poetry...read them, decipher them, respect them, understand them. Then appreciate them.

Watch the music video and it'll become very clear. Stupid video, but it gets the message across.

Basically, a guy marries a girl who is unfaithful. Everyone knows about it but him. He walks in on her kissing a guy, and he realizes she's cheating on him. (And she's still in her wedding dress)

the guy walked in on the bride making out with someone and told the groom.....
"what a shame that the poor grooms bride is a whore"
"havent you people ever heard of closing the god damn door"
"technically your marriage is saved"
