I was looking at static caravans for sale the other day, some of them are amazing inside, nowadays.
Some are better than my house in terms of furnishing :)
(UK ONLY)However, most static caravans are on holiday parks, which cannot have you stay on them permanently, so they normally have a minimum1 month -non-vacancy period to stop you living there permanently.

I lived in a static caravan for two years, and then got a house, last October, but i go to the caravan everyday, because it is 2 minutes from my house, and I love it there. There are some downfalls though, for example:
On my second night in the caravan it rained so much everyone had to leave the site due to flooding, and i mean flooding, wasn't funny at the time, but looking back it is.
When it rains, its deafening inside
Spiders galore in the winter and Ants galore in the summer, the cheeky buggers, even get into bed with you. My friend woke up covered head to toe in Ants, (was funny though) lol.
Don't let the above put you off.
Other than a few minor downfalls, ITS AN EXPERIENCE TO BE HAD BY ALL.

I live in a static home in the winter because I work away in the summer and my company supplies it free of charge, only thing is it is a bit embarrasing to bring women back to on my part - hotels are far more luxurious

I already do, if you mean its not a caravan. But as for choosing to live in a 'static' home, I wouldn't if it meant my hair standing on end, every time I was staying indoors.

i spent most of last winter living in a field in a 34' american RV so yes, a static wouldnt be any great hardship.
So long as you have water, electric (or a genny), and a septic tank its actually not that different to living in a flat.

If you see the state of some of those caravan sites you wouldn't want to stay in them.
Not saying they're all horrid places but the local council run ones I've seen are.

Yes definitely, we did consider buying one as it came with a huge amount of land for the horses, and it was much, much cheaper than a concrete equivalent.
