Where do you buy your pet/ferret supplies?

I used to buy my supplies all from one online supplier,www.ferret.com, but they have tagged on a hefty fee that doubles my litter and food bill. I'm not willing to do that. I want the best for my ferrets, but I don't have money to throw away and with four of them we go through quite a bit of litter and food. I have found a few merchants out there that won't overcharge on shipping, though their prices are a bit higher. The nearest pet stores are 1 1/2 hours away from me and always have been more expensive, so online shopping was the smart choice so far. Where does everyone else shop for litter and food?

And please, save me the smart a$$ answers. Thank you!

Thanks for the input, but I don't need advice on what to feed or what to use for litter. I simply want a good deal on food and litter. I've been doing this for a little bit.

For food I have to go to 3 places. Petco for Natural Balance, Wal-Mart for Maxximum, and a feed store for Felidae.
My litter I buy at a large hardware store for about $5 for 40lbs.
Have you tried the ferretstore.com? They have free shipping on orders over $50. And they will price match any product (you have to calculate shipping in the rival price too).

I buy all my ferret's supplies from Petco....I will admit sometimes they can be expenseive but sometimes there are deals that you can't beat! I used to use the litter shavings, ( i still do sometimes) but I also got a corner litter box in my ferret's cage so I get the litter they use at the store. I use Aspen Supreme Pellets. Its superior ABsorbencey and odor control. 100% Organic. Its kind of hard to get out,but it lasts sooo much longer then the cheaper stuff! It actually was cheaper then the cheaper stuff..........i got it for eight dollors, and the other stuff was like 9 and 10 and the Petco assistance said that that kind didn't last long, that it was easy to schoop out. I have had a ten pound back for like a month.....( i don't always use it, i also use my shavings) I go back and forth. I used Complete Nutriention Ferret Diet....a ten pound bag and i have had it for a month or so. I got it for ten dollors, which saved me money because I had looked around and it was actually more food and cheaper.

Wal-mart also has ferret food and shavings for a pretty reasonable price... you can order online and have them ship it out to you or pick it up at your local store...if you have Wal mart..

I usually buy my ferret supplies from a Petland store that is right next to the 'Local' Walmart, I also get some things, like treats and liter, from walmart as well. Unfortunately it is about a 45 minute drive each way and i have two ferrets (three if you count the one my cousin will grow bored with in about a month), so I usually buy enough to last them for a while, just in case i can't get out and/or con a family member into stopping there on their way.

For online shopping, I use jefferspet.com or ferretdepot.com. The shipping is reasonable and the prices are better than the pet stores.

Use newspaper you shred yourself for litter..or cat litter.

Cat food is very commonly fed to ferrets by breeders and owners alike. Buying the most expensive 'ferret food' is not always best. It could just be the most expensive.
